José Benmayor
Nacido 1985, hijo de Samy Benmayor, destacado artista chileno, se encargó de introducirlo en el tema desde que era niño.
Estudió arte en la Universidad Finis Terrae y se tituló hace muy poco de Licenciado en Pintura. Además Benmayor pinta telas, grafittis y hace animaciones, en su tiempo libre también es músico. Ha pasado por varios talleres de los cuales se puede mencionar a Julio Prado.
Ha participado en diversas exposiciones colectivas. Sus referentes están en una mezcla de los cartoons que veía cuando niño, y los pintores que inundaron su vida fueron Basquiat, Guston, Otto Dix, entre otros.
En lo que respecta a la pintura, José trata de hacer sentir situaciones con los símbolos reconocibles, que el espectador los sienta cercanos, para que pueda armarse una historia.
Born in March 1985, his father is a painter and was in charge of introducing him to the subject since he was a child. He studied art at the Finis Terrae University and recently graduated with a degree in Painting.
Benmayor also paints canvases, graffiti and makes animations, in his free time he also plays music. He has work through several workshops of which Julio Prado can be mentioned. He has participated in several collective exhibitions.
His references are in a mixture of the cartoons that he saw as a child, and the painters who flooded his life were Basquiat, Guston, Otto Dix, among others. As far as painting is concerned, José tries to make people feel situations with recognisable symbols, that the spectator feels close to them, so that a story can be made.
